Weeding

Some weeds germinate in winter.
Digging
Continue digging and covering soil to stop it getting too wet.
Order seeds and summer planting bulbs
Check supports of trees and shrubs.
Plant deciduous hedging
Hardwood cuttings

The cuttings can be potted up and transported to volunteers' gardens.

Sweet Peas
Sweet peas can be sown under cover.
Early Vegetables
Sow early vegetables under cover. See our guide on the Plants page.
Chit early potatoes
Clean pots and seed trays for spring sowing
We have a good supply of plant pots but no glasshouse facility. If you are able to nurse seedlings and saplings at home please contact us
Apply organic-based fertilisers
We will be making several trips to our farmer friends and spreading and digging in the much into the allotment plots.
Fruit pruning
Finish pruning our small selection of fruit trees before the sap starts to rise.
Woodwork
Construct shuttering, cold frames, raise beds, fruit cage frames and cloches.
Community Allotment Plots
The use, management and planning of the Community Allotment Plots will be undertaken off-site.
